Vegepod is a Sydney based company, owned and operated out of Australia since 2009. Vegepod prides itself on providing everyday Australians with a simple and easy way to grow vegetables at home. The cutting edge technology removes all the effort and ongoing  maintenance of a traditional vegetable garden. The Vegepod is the only large container garden in today’s market and is an ingenious solution for issues facing the everyday gardener. Traditional backyard vegetable gardens often fail due to over or under watering, soil deficiencies and hungry wildlife. The Vegepod addresses all of these issues by the implementation of self-watering reservoirs, provision of full control over soil quality through a contained garden, as well as the installation of a protective canopy. The health of vegetables is ensured by our self-watering technology. The Vegepod uses a wicking system which waters plants from below. Garden maintenance is minimal and watering is only required during the early stages of plant growth.

Having a container garden as opposed to a raised garden bed means full control of all nutrients required to maximise vegetable growth and quality in a micro environment away from the ground. The inclusion of a protective cover emulates a greenhouse in your backyard by using a polyethylene knitted mesh to protect crops from inclement weather and pests, whilst allowing rain and air in.

Eating organic is steadily becoming a priority for many people and the Vegepod is perfect for growing organic vegetables. The Vegepod allows people to grow vegetables without having to worry about pests hence eliminating the need to use pesticides and allowing for fully organic growing. The polypropylene used to make the Vegepod is certifiably food safe which ensures no chemicals leach into the soil and contaminate your vegetables.

The Vegepod has evolved significantly with several versions over the past 8 years. A significant factor in our research and development is listening to customer feedback and altering or adding the user friendly features of the Vegepod. Entry is open to all domestic and international brands available in the Australian consumer marketplace.

Products must be commercially available on the Australian market and comply with all applicable Australian standards and regulatory requirements prior to entry. Prototypes or products still undergoing trials are ineligible to enter.

Entries are assessed utilising a robust and dynamic framework to ensure that the assessment process is pertinent and objective. The World Business Awards Framework (WBA Framework) is utilised as a structured model of assessment that enables the participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards. The Framework consists of specialised assessment modules pertaining to the evaluation criteria for each of the award categories. The criteria and sub-criteria provide a robust set of requirements that are used as the methodology for benchmarking and learning among the participating organisations.

The Australian Brand Awards are the regional chapter of an integrated, hierarchical leadership program conducted on a national and international level. Eligible organisations from each region are invited to participate in the international chapter of the program at The World Brand Awards. Conducted annually and currently in its inaugural year, the awards has been established to honour the most innovative consumer brands by recognising their most innovative consumer products. The program provides a notable opportunity for high-performing organisations which develop innovative consumer products to be acknowledged both nationally and internationally. The Australian Brand Awards are the national chapter and The World Brand Awards are the international chapter. The awards seek to recognise the world’s most innovative consumer brands through a global recognition and knowledge building initiative that is underpinned by the program’s established framework.
