EGO Power Plus 38cm PowerLoad Line Trimmer has been selected as an ABA100 Winner for Product Innovation in The Australian Brand Awards 2019. The Australian Brand Award for Product Innovation [PIA] recognises innovative consumer products offering a point of difference from their competitors.

Chervon Trading Co was founded in 1993. It specialises in researching, developing, manufacturing, testing, sales and after-sale services for cordless power tools, outdoor power equipment and related product categories. As a business which produces environmentally friendly products, aimed to replace combustion engine outdoor power equipment, it is important for Chervon to minimise negative environmental impact and enforce low carbon practices across its operations.

Some of the key elements in the company’s on-going commitment to minimise environmental impact and low-carbon practises include, a green roof garden system, which is a 7000 square metre rooftop of Chervon’s R&D Centre in Nanjing China;  a 2MW (20,000m2) roof photovoltaic power station at Chervon Industrial Park; a Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) and air conditioning chilled water storage system at Chervon’s $220 million USD New Energy Park, which covers 448 acres.

Line Trimmer products have been available for many years. The biggest issue for users in the past has been the difficulty in loading the line onto the machine once the line has been used up. The aim was to create a unit that functions as a high-end line trimmer whilst solving this issue by feeding the line into the head and pressing a button.

The new EGO POWER+ 38cm POWERLOAD™ Line Trimmer has a carbon fibre shaft, built with a hi-efficiency brushless motor, bump feed line advance, 2.4mm professional cutting line, and is compatible with all EGO ARC Lithium™ batteries to maximise the convenience of cordless.

Incorporating EGO’s proven POWER+ ARC Lithium-ion technology, with exceptional power, performance, run time and recharge times, EGO engineers set out to develop the next evolution in EGO’s outdoor power equipment offering, with the aim of creating a high performance Line Trimmer that met the requirements of users in performance and flexibility but without the noise, fuss and fumes of petrol.

EGO launched their first 56V cordless product in late 2014 to the Australian Market. EGO engineers have continued to develop, improve and expand the range, utilising the same proven ARC Lithium-Ion system, meaning batteries remain completely interchangeable between all EGO Power Plus products.

The Australian Brand Awards are an annual comprehensive awards program which recognises the most innovative consumer brands via a set of established award categories. The Australian Brand Awards are open to all domestic and international consumer products available in the Australian marketplace.

The Australian Brand Awards are the national chapter of an integrated innovation initiative conducted on a national and international level. The Australian Brand Award recipients will participate in the international chapter of the program at the World Brand Awards whereby participants are provided with the unique opportunity to benchmark themselves against the top performers globally.

Entry is open to all domestic and international consumer products available in the Australian marketplace. Products can include but are not limited to goods, services, devices, equipment, programs and activities from any of the following main product types: Electronics & Communications, Home & Garden, Beauty & Wellness, Fashion & Lifestyle, Food & Beverage, Sports & Fitness, Entertainment & Recreation, Travel & Leisure, Baby & Children’s products.

Products must be commercially available on the Australian market and comply with all applicable Australian standards and regulatory requirements prior to entry. Prototypes or products still undergoing trials are ineligible to enter.

The World Business Awards Framework (WBA Framework) is utilised as a structured model of assessment that enables the participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards.

The Framework consists of specialised assessment modules pertaining to the evaluation criteria for each of the award categories. The criteria and sub-criteria provide a robust set of requirements that are used as the methodology for benchmarking and learning among the participating organisations.

Entrant organisations are required to demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of research and development, product innovation, user experience, product features and benefits.

The program provides a notable opportunity for high-performing companies that produce world-class consumer products to be acknowledged and celebrated for their achievements both nationally and internationally.

Conducted annually, the awards seek to recognise the world’s most innovative consumer brands and to review their business performance through a global recognition and knowledge building initiative that is underpinned by the program’s established framework.

The program provides the ultimate platform for building knowledge, increasing brand awareness, equity, loyalty and retention through increased exposure, recognition and prestige.
