Swann Communications – MaxRanger4K Solar Security System has been selected as an ABA100® Winner for New Product Innovation in The Australian Brand Awards 2024. The Australian Brand Award for New Product Innovation [NEW] recognises innovative new products that offer a point of difference from their competitors.
“We’re incredibly proud that the MaxRanger4K Solar Security System has been recognised in both the New Product Innovation and Technology Innovation categories at this year’s Australian Brand Awards. This achievement reflects the dedication of our team, who have worked tirelessly to bring this first-of-its-kind product to life. At Swann, we strive to empower homes and businesses with reliable, cost-effective, and crime preventing DIY security solutions, and this award reaffirms our commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and customer satisfaction. We know that standard 2.4GHz Wi-Fi poses transmission problems for most Australian homes and this product offers a solution to those issues – with a longer and stronger wireless signal from the cameras to the hub.”
Swann is a globally leading manufacturer of video surveillance, consumer electronics and security-centric products, providing innovative, cost-effective solutions for consumers and businesses. Swann operates in the security and surveillance industry, which involves the production, distribution, installation, and maintenance of equipment and systems designed to detect, monitor, and prevent criminal activity and other potential security threats.
In January 2024, Swann announced the release of a first-of-its-kind product in the market, the MaxRanger4K Solar Security System. Innovatively designed and engineered locally in Australia, the MaxRanger4K represents an exciting next step in do-it-yourself security technology, providing consumers and businesses with wireless security over unparalleled long distances – up to 600 metres away. Through the MaxRanger4K, users have access to security in the places that most need it – perimeters including fences, walls, ceilings, gates and entrances.
Swann’s MaxRanger4K security system includes up to four lightweight, durable and weatherproof cameras with built-in solar panels that keep them forever charged, along with powerful Sony STARVIS sensors to enable enhanced colour video day and night. Unlike many security systems on the market today, there are no monthly fees. The cameras connect to a hub with local 64GB Micro SD memory, and users can save clips to their Dropbox account. It also has the option to expand capacity by upgrading the MicroSD Card or connecting an external hard drive, along with a built-in backup battery, to the hub for up to five hours of power in the event of a site power outage. The system features sensor lights, sirens, two-way talk, and True Detect+ for AI-powered heat, motion, and people- and vehicle-triggered alerts, which can be controlled effortlessly on the Swann Security app.
A key feature of the MaxRanger4K is that it offers the longest range and strongest wireless signal with 20 times the coverage of other Wi-Fi security systems, making it perfect for protecting large homes, businesses, rural properties and farms that can traditionally be difficult to keep secure due to their size. Exemplifying Swann’s vision to be the world leader in smart security solutions, the MaxRanger4K uses category-leading 900MHz wireless technology, which connects for up to 600m in the open air and 200m away from the hub in typical use. Large properties often include hard-to-reach blind spots that ordinary Wi-FI can’t get to, however, the MaxRanger4K has been designed to ensure year-round threat detection of properties spanning several acres. Its strong signal can also penetrate through obstacles more effectively than higher frequency Wi-Fi bands that other security cameras operate on, making it a highly effective solution for suburban properties. Users can also purchase extra cameras for added monitoring, with up to eight cameras able to be paired on the same hub.
The MaxRanger4K is also built with data privacy in mind. User data is encrypted, and Swann leverages on-shore Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud services, offers sizable storage on Swann devices and makes it easy to transfer and expand storage to ensure customer data never leaves Australia. Swann has also gone the extra mile to ensure the MaxRanger4K, like the rest of their product suite, complies with NDAA(USA) and GDPR(UK) regulations.
The MaxRanger4K has a sleek and discreet form factor and comes pre-paired for set-up in minutes with quick mounting stands that do not require any professional support to set up. The system has undergone rigorous testing to operate in a wider range of climates and requires no additional fees or subscriptions to operate. To ensure total peace of mind, Swann offers lifetime support, 24 24-month manufacturer’s warranty as standard, and a dedicated phone line to connect customers with experienced customer support.
